I am a retired Latin and English teacher who enjoys using my teaching skills to tutor students of all ages.
My educational background includes a BA with a double major in Latin and English, an MAT in the teaching of English and an EdS in the teaching of both Latin and English.
My goal as a tutor is to simplify the course's material so that students can understand it, do well on tests and improve their grade average....

Reviewed test materials with my daughter and she?s requesting another tutor session. Very convenient times and the remote feature makes it easy. Will use again.

My child?s middle school Latin grade went from a D+ to a B over the course of a semester working with Elizabeth. My child does not like to accept help, and he never felt judged or shamed by Elizabeth. We cannot say enough good things about her.

Excellent first lesson. Kids are inspired and looking forward to next class. As parents, we will support the kids to stay on top of assigned homework.
- Mathew G. from San Mateo, CA
She is a knowledgeable teacher with decades of Latin teaching experience. And she is also very familiar with the NLE exam syllabus and rules. My child likes her class very much.
- Neil S. from Chatham, NJ
Elizabeth helped my 4th grader with her Latin and grammar. Accomplished so much more than if I had helped her without any fights and after it was over my daughter said she was fun to work with and actually enjoyed the lesson.

My son was taking Latin as a freshman and was beginning to struggle in his second semester. He was pulling a C and growing increasingly confused. Elizabeth got him back on track quickly. She clarified what had been perplexing and strengthened his overall knowledge of first year Latin. He pulled a B the second semester of his freshman year. He?s now a sophomore and, thanks to Elizabeth?s foundation, he?s doing well in Latin all on his own. I also wanted to share this. When my son was struggling with Latin, before working with Elizabeth, he told me he was only going to do the mandatory two years. No more. This meant that he would be done with Latin at the end of his sophomore year. Well, just last week, I saw him filling out his courses for junior year and he?s decided to take a third year! Elizabeth transformed a kid who hated Latin into one who?s opting to take more. I think that says it all.

Elizabeth explains in a way our daughter can easily understand- her grade has already improved and she's even enjoying the class more! Fantastic tutor!

Elizabeth tutor my hard of hearing daughter in Latin. Just by my daughter's first session I realized Elizabeth cared about her students and wanted my daughter to succeed. Most importantly my daughter enjoy working with her and has learned more in her tutoring session than she's learned with her actual teacher.
- Chanelle G. from Rock Hill, SC
My daughter loved how Elizabeth not only helped her with the transformation but helped her with the sentence structures also. Elizabeth makes learning Latin easy.
- Sreevalli C. from Basking Ridge, NJ
Elizabeth is a great tutor and helps my son understand Latin terms well. Thank you so much for your help. As a result my son has maintained an A in the class. Thank you very much.
- Vivian S. from Hollywood, FL
Elizabeth is thoughtful and patient, and explains every grammatical concept step by step. She has helped me work through some of the trickier concepts in beginning Latin. Thanks so much, Elizabeth!
- Shira G. from White Plains, NY
My daughters enjoy her lessons and have great interest in learning Latin. She is the best foreign language teacher my daughters have met so far. We will continue the lessons with her.
- Lillian C. from Cupertino, CA
My daughter was getting a poor grade in Latin I, so I hired Elizabeth to help her. Elizabeth has gone above and beyond what I expected, contacting the teacher and getting information from her over and over again. She also provided extra materials to help my daughter out that she did not need to do. I highly recommend her as a conscientious teacher who really wants to help her students -- and who does just that! My daughter is now getting a healthy passing grade when she might have flunked. I can't thank her enough.

Elizabeth has been working with my son since last November. She is a great Latin teacher. Her voice and explanation are very clear. My son is interested in her lessons. His grade of exam is improved steadily. Elizabeth is also very patient. I highly recommend her to any students who needs a Latin teacher.
- Emily D. from Boston, MA
Elizabeth is giving my daughter well structured lessons in a calm and patient manner. This is especially beneficial to my daughter because she suffers from anxiety. She is finally learning Latin instead of just trying to get by. We are so happy we found her.
- Peter K. from Huntingdon Valley, PA
I cannot speak highly enough about Elizabeth. She works with two of my children. I have one child who has a very short attention span and likes to rush through his work. His goal in school is simply to be finished. :-) She works extensively with him, sometimes for intervals of nearly 2 hours! She is patient, slows him down, and keeps him focused (as much as is possible for him) on the task at hand. She makes him work MUCH harder than he would do on his own (or with me). And his grade in Latin is representative of their combined hard work. He is doing very well. My other child is a diligent student and Latin comes quite easily for her. While she is not in need of tutoring, I have her work with Elizabeth simply because we homeschool and I like her to have some one on one attention apart from me. Elizabeth is able to challenge her and keep her motivated. My daughter looks forward to her time with Elizabeth. In summary, I am very thankful every school day that we found Elizabeth! She has made my life as "mom" a good deal easier!

Elizabeth is a reliable and knowledgeable tutor. My daughters latest test score went up 10 points. She tries to find the students' weaknesses and work towards catching them up.
- Marie P. from Caldwell, NJ
Elizabeth was a great help in preparing my son for his first semester Latin 2 final. He was really happy with the lesson. He wishes we'd found her sooner. We will definitely be using her during the second semester.
- Doug F. from Katy, TX
Elizabeth has been incredibly helpful, easy to communicate with, and a HUGE blessing to my daughter as she tries to pass her Latin class. She is making things understandable for a 12-year-old and we are so thankful!
- Beth O. from Goodyear, AZ
She?s helped my son sooo much! He was struggling as he started Latin this year in Classical Conversations but she?s helped him so much that he actually loves Latin now!
